Yearly SIP Calculator

Value of investing a fixed amount once every year, with optional raises

SIP and fundsAnnual SIPOptional step upChecked 2 Nov 2026

This yearly SIP calculator estimates what investing a fixed amount once a year could grow to. Fill in the sum you will put in each year, the return you expect, the number of years and any yearly increase you plan. Alongside the projected value and total put in, it also shows the monthly SIP equivalent for comparison. A quarterly plan falls between the two; type four times your quarterly amount as the yearly figure for a rough guide.

An annual SIP suits people with yearly income, such as farmers after harvest, professionals paid annual fees or anyone who invests a bonus every year.

How the yearly SIP calculator works

Each annual amount is assumed to go in on the first day of the year and compound at your chosen return till the end. The formula is the yearly version of a SIP: FV = A × ((1 + r)^n − 1) ÷ r × (1 + r). With ₹60,000 a year at 12% for 10 years, you invest ₹6,00,000 and the estimated value is ₹11,79,275.

The same ₹60,000 split into ₹5,000 monthly instalments reaches ₹11,61,695 in the monthly SIP calculator. The annual plan comes out slightly ahead because each year's money is invested at the start rather than spread across the year.

Annual SIP vs monthly SIP

PlanInvestedEstimated value at 12%
₹60,000 once a year, 10 years₹6,00,000₹11,79,275
₹5,000 a month, 10 years₹6 lakh₹11.62 lakh
₹1,20,000 once a year, 15 years₹18,00,000₹50,10,394

The difference is small either way. A yearly SIP carries more timing risk, since all of each year's money goes in on one day. A monthly plan spreads purchases. Choose based on when you actually have the cash; leaving a year's money idle in a savings account while waiting to invest it once usually costs more than the timing difference.

Yearly SIP with step up

If your yearly income grows, raise the annual amount. Starting at ₹60,000 and growing it 10% a year for a decade at 12%, you invest about ₹9.56 lakh, projected to reach about ₹17.2 lakh. Monthly plans with raises are covered by the step up SIP calculator.

Who uses an annual SIP

  • Farmers and seasonal businesses who receive most income once or twice a year.
  • Salaried people investing an annual bonus.
  • Parents putting a fixed sum aside each birthday or new school year.
  • Freelancers who prefer to invest after the year's accounts are settled.
  • Retired people topping up a fund from a yearly interest payout, such as from a deposit or a pension arrear.

Many fund houses allow annual or quarterly SIP frequencies. If yours does not, you can make a lumpsum investment each year on a fixed date; the lumpsum calculator shows the growth of any single year's amount.

Yearly SIP return calculator: reading the table

The table lists, for each year, the total you have invested and the estimated value at the end of that year. Use it to check a goal date, such as a child's admission year. For present day buying power, open the inflation adjusted page. To compare with fixed return options that also take a yearly deposit, the PPF calculator uses the same once a year pattern.

Mutual fund values move with markets and a steady yearly return is only an illustration. Read scheme documents before investing.
